I can understand though that sometimes you run out of ideas for fun ways to enjoy these classics. Enter these garlic chili lentil wraps. Hearty, flavorful, and such a fun way to upgrade the typical veggie wrap.
It’s been a long time since I’ve been at school or have had a traditional go to the office kind of job. But one thing I miss from both of these settings is the sense of structure they offered for the day itself. In particular, the structure it offered for food during the day was so helpful. When you work from home, it can feel like sometimes as soon as your day starts, you are stuck working all the way through the day without really finding a prompt to pause and do little things like eat your lunch.
Ways to regain structure to your work or school day
- Schedule in break time and stick to it! Of course, there are always some exceptions, but I treat my lunch like a standing meeting. I’ll reschedule it if I need to, but it is a must that I stick to this so I can give myself a break and refuel.
- Stay hydrated. Very easy to lose track of water. I purposefully keep my desk loaded with all the water and liquids (tea) I need. It makes me drink more through the day, but also sneakily will make me have to go to the bathroom, which forces another opportunity for me to take a short break away from the computer.
- Give myself enough reason to pull away from the desk. I plan at least one exciting thing that will at least convince me that it is worth pulling away from the desk. Sometimes that might include promising myself a walk for fresh air or having a really tasty lunch to look forward to. Both always seem like a reward to myself.
How to make garlic chili lentil wraps
- Rinse and drain lentils well then add lentils and veggie broth to a sauce pan and bring broth up to a boil.
- Reduce heat to a low simmer, cover and cook lentils for 20 minutes or until lentils are fully cooked. Discard any excess fluid that is not absorbed by the lentils, cover and set aside to cool.
- Add tahini, garlic chili sauce, mustard, garlic powder, adobo seasoning, lemon juice and water to a bowl and whisk until a sauce forms.
- Remove lid from cooked lentils and pour in sauce. Stir in sauce well to coat lentils completely.
- Add filling to a wrap with desired veggies and wrap like a burrito then serve. Refrigerate extra lentils in a Tupperware container to use for future wrap assembly throughout the week.
Tips for making garlic chili lentil wraps
- If you don’t want to cook your lentils, feel free to use a can of lentils for this recipe instead. Make sure to rinse and drain well before using.
- Remove any excess fluid from your lentils as needed after they finish cooking.
- Feel free to thin out your sauce more with additional water as desired. Add small amounts at a time, so you don’t make your sauce too watery. You want to make sure that the sauce coats the lentils well. If it’s too runny, it won’t adhere to the lentils well and will just make your wrap soggy.
- The filling for these wraps can be cooled and stored in a Tupperware container in the fridge.

Can you name the brand of adobo seasoning you used for this recipe? I have never used this before and went looking for it. Every one I found had very different ingredients from each other, so I am confused.
So sorry for the late reply here Lorraine. The brand I use is by the company Loisa.
I can definitely relate to working from home and feeling like it’s non stop. Setting alarms for breaks and work times definitely help me! Oh and these wraps looks delicious! I can’t wait to try them ☺️
Yes! It goes by in such a flash, sometimes it literally feels like I get in my work chair and it’s suddenly 5pm. And such a good idea with setting alarms and scheduling breaks. 🙂 Hope you enjoy these wraps. They definitely help with breaking up the day.
Great recipe! I ate the lentils in a bowl with rice, arugula, cucumber and peppers, and it all tasted lovely.
That sounds so delicious! Could eat these lentils with almost anything, so satisfying. 🙂
Easy and delicious! The whole fam loved!!
Thank you so much for this feedback Shannon! 🙂
I love this recipe! My husband usually makes it at least once a month for us. Do you have any thoughts on how long the filling would last in a Tupperware container in the fridge?
Hello, do you have any substitutes for garlic chili sauce?
Super sorry, I think I missed this comment somehow! You can substitute some sriracha in the mix with a little extra garlic powder to make up for the garlic flavor. 🙂
